Probably the most beautiful balloon flight in the world and the ultimate safari experience begins early in the morning. Between 04:00 and 05:00 AM, Balloon Safaris will collect you from your lodge or camp and transfer you by Land Rover or Land Cruiser to the launch site, ensuring you arrive by 06:00 AM. Upon arrival, you will meet your pilot, receive a safety briefing, and watch as the balloon is inflated.
As the sun rises at dawn, we gently take off, floating in the direction of the morning winds. Our pilot expertly controls the altitude, sometimes flying at treetop level or even lower, offering a unique perspective and incredible photographic opportunities of the wildlife below. At other times, we may ascend to heights of 1,000 feet or more, revealing the vast and breathtaking panorama of the Serengeti. From time to time, the pilot will add more heat to the balloon using powerful whisper burners. Between these bursts of heat, there is a serene silence, punctuated only by the natural sounds of the environment below.
The flight lasts about one hour, depending on the conditions, until we eventually descend and land. Afterward, we celebrate in traditional fashion with champagne (or an excellent sparkling wine) before sitting down to a full English breakfast served in the bush, styled like a scene from “Out of Africa” with bone china, linen tablecloths, and Sheffield cutlery.
Following breakfast, you will receive your official Serengeti Balloon certificate. At around 09:45 AM, you’ll meet up with your safari driver, ready to continue with the day’s adventures.

PICK-UP FROM: Your clients’ lodge or camp in Central Serengeti, Ndutu, North Serengeti or Western Corridor.
INCLUDES: Transport from your clients’ lodge or camp to our launch site, balloon flight (approx one hour), sparkling wine, full English breakfast in the bush, return road transfer to Seronera Visitor Centre (or in North Serengeti, Western Corridor & Ndutu to pre-arranged rendezvous)
This itinerary has been designed to fit in with all standard safari itineraries visiting the Serengeti. Their return at 9:45 am allows them to continue with other planned activities for the rest of the day.

IF WE CANCEL: (e.g. weather/technical) WE REFUND IN FULL or if you wish and we have availability we will offer the opportunity to fly the following day.
RESTRICTIONS: We do not carry children under the age of 7. There is no upper age limit, however passengers must be reasonably mobile, fit to fly and prepared for an adventure.
Passenger weights are calculated at an average of 80 kgs. Passengers weighing 50% plus more than this (i.e.120 kgs/265 lb/19 stone) may be charged for two places.
